The BBC is obviously getting worried about losing licence payers as a BBC page on June 28, 2024 placed an advert to buy a TV license in the 'Best of BBC iPlayer' panel at the bottom of the page.

The ad stated:

...and the link takes you to a TV Licensing 'Buy Now' page with the blurb:

Love live TV? You need a TV Licence.

To kick off this year’s big summer of sport, plus every unmissable moment live TV has to offer, you need a TV Licence. That way you and your household will be covered to watch the TV you love, whatever TV service, streaming service or device you're watching on. A licence also covers you to use BBC iPlayer*.

So, if you don’t already have a TV Licence, buy yours now.

FNN was under the impression that the BBC is a non-commercial channel. Obviously not.
