A couple in California has rejected an apology from a man who drives cars after an article he wrote was published in a newspaper that became popular largely because it had full-page photos of scantily clad women on Page 3.
The article was proclaimed 'hateful' by the couple and the author's apology rejected. This action has prolonged a media storm that continues to put the Californian couple, the man who drives cars and the newspaper itself into the spotlight. The whole affair seems like it was 'done in a hurry' and 'nothing but a PR stunt'.
The man who drives cars wrote a confidential letter to the couple in which he is rumoured to have offered to change the name of a newly proposed cafe attached to his farm, from Lady Godiva Rides to The Montecito Arms, to reflect the California town where the couple live.
Unfortunately the cafe was refused planning permission as few people know or much care where Montecito is.
