Sky News reports on comments by the head of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) :

"It is precisely the British who, through provocations and misinformation, are guiding Brussels' policy track on undermining the Ukrainian settlement.

"They insist on the rapid preparation of Europe for an armed standoff with Russia on land, sea and air."

He claimed that by doing so, "they are assembling a European coalition to dispatch troops to Ukraine while advancing the issue of creating a no-fly zone there".

The UK government has not been publicly calling for a no-fly zone over Ukraine.

The last sentence is simply a blatant lie and qualifies for the Addison De Witt lie of the month - a stupid lie not worthy of you.

In March 2025, the UK's Daily Express newspaper reported:

RAF fighter jets will enforce a no-fly zone over Ukraine under plans being discussed by the UK-led "coalition the willing". It follows key discussions at Permanent Joint Headquarters in Northwood on Thursday to thrash out details of a plan with France to create a multinational stabilisation force on Ukrainian soil.

The discussions were led by Lt Gen Nick Perry, the chief of joint operations, and attended by PM Sir Keir Starmer, Defence Secretary John Healey and representatives from 30 nations who have expressed interest in contributing to Ukraine’s post-war security.

Clearly this was not a private discussion since various news outlets reported on it and headlined it to the public.

So more porkie pies on Ukraine from Sky.
