It seems that not everyone wants to move to the Bibby Stockholm floating hotel moored off Weymouth, Dorset.
According to The Telegraph:
Migrants avoid move to Bibby Stockholm over ‘severe fear of water’. Up to 20 people mounted legal challenges alleging that Home Office officials failed to screen them for suitability.
This seems strange as it is very likely that these same migrants arrived in Britain via a long and exposed sea crossing over the channel.
But aquagenic urticaria is a serious condition in which hives develop on the skin after contact with water, regardless of its temperature.
The UK Border Control is to have a process change that requires all entrants the UK to be asked if they have an allergy to water in order to prevent this situation happening again.
A number of other strange allergies are also being reported including allergies to tents, military bases, hotels and B&Bs, Rwanda and Ascension Island. Where will it all end?
