When Edinburgh resident Lee Garrett was clearing out her mother's loft, she was surprised to find a boxed Japanese Radicon robot from the 1950s. When she opened the box, the robot came to life, sprang out and managed to escape down an air vent shaft in the roof before disappearing.

The robot was subsequently valued at around £10,000 by a local auctioneer so the Garretts' would like it back.

Ms. Garrett was reported as saying that she and her brother "couldn't believe our ears" when the robot, obviously dormant in the attic for decades, suddenly came to life flashing its lights and screaming: Exterminate! Exterminate! before it shot off down the air vent.

Edinburgh police have issued a warning to Ediburgh residents:

This rogue robot is a danger to the public and should not be approached. It may be on its own or in the company of a gang of Daleks that have recently been spotted in the city waving their ray guns around, taking 'upskirt videos' on escalators and generally making a nuisance of themselves.

FNN understands that Sigourney Weaver has been contacted to help search for and neutralize the robot as she has done this before.
