Elon Musk has attracted the fury of the Twitterati after he put a limit on the number of tweets users can read, advising users to 'step away from the phone to see your friends and family'.

A spokesperson for the NGO Glued Incessantly to My Phone (GIMP) told FNN:

These new limits may mean that Twitter users will have to put their phone down for a few seconds a day as they will have nothing to read.

It's all very well for Musk to advocate spending more time with friends and family but many of today's Twitter users have forgotten who friends and family are, unless they are being followed by them online.

For example if the limit is set to 86400 tweets per day that means users can only read one tweet a second.

What will they do with the rest of their time?
