Representatives of the Net Zero Industrial Complex (NZICs) reacted with fury at the news that UK PM Sunak aims to relax the deadlines for buying petrol/diesel cars in the UK from 2030 to 2035.

A NZIC spokesperson explained:

We have invested a fortune in EVs and the infrastructure to support them and now the Government kicks us in the teeth.

Instead of exiting the ridiculous motor vehicle business, with lots of people driving around in single-use vehicles, and investing in new, hydrogen powered versions of public transport that could use the existing clapped-out road network to revolutionize transportation in the UK, we were persuaded to keep flogging a dead horse.

What with this and threat from hydrogen power already used in public transport, we could all go bust with a decade and all our robots would be out of work!

Bill "SUV" Heslop commented:

Pommie bastard! I was looking forward to bagging myself a Bentley when prices crash in 2030. Now I'll have to wait another 5 years.

Hey Muriel! Fetch me a tinnie. I'm parched.
