The BBC's world-renowned Fabrications Unit has apologised to Nigel Farage for its inaccurate reporting about his de-banking from Coutts.

A BBC activist from the Fabrications Unit told FNN:

We apologised to Mr Farage for falling below our usual high standards.

Usually no-one picks up on our fabrications but now and then we are caught out. And for being caught out we apologise both to Mr Farage and to our loyal license payers who expect better fabrications from their state-sponsored media.

Even though our information came from the top, over a rather marvelous dinner by the way, it was wrong and naturally we never bothered to check and investigate what we were told before gleefully telling the world.

So "despite" all our efforts to get to the truth of the matter, we managed to successfully smear Mr Farage safe in the knowledge that everyone will have moved on in a few weeks and forgotten our latest fabrication, which will be excluded from our Fact Checking service.

To follow-up on the apology, the theme of this week's hit BBC show Question Time is:

Is it OK to de-bank Brexit voters and people who wear MAGA hats or does a bank really need any more reasons than that in order to close their accounts with a clear conscience?

To ensure complete objectivity and a fair debate, the Question Time audience will be packed with remoaners and the panel will be chaired by Jo Brand.
