The UK has announced a deal to help the Ukraine rebuild its rail infrastructure after the war given that much of it is outdated and not fit for purpose.
A spokesperson for the RMT rail union in the UK told FNN:
It is a mystery to us why the UK is investing millions in upgrading railways in the Ukraine when we can't even build a high-speed line from London to Brimingham, trains are overcrowded and ticket prices are going through the roof due to the energy crisis. That's all I'm going to say given that currently I'm on strike.
A spokesperson for the Ukraine infrastructure department commented:
We welcome this investment, and I know the UK invented the railway, but frankly we would rather get the money from the Chinese as they really know how to build railways. Have you ever been on a train in the UK? I rest my case.
