Serbian actor Milos Bikovic has been dropped from the HBO show The White Lotus for being a Russian citizen and hiding in his cellar as a child while NATO bombed his country - defensively.

This is what Bikovic said in response to being dropped:

I grew up in a war-torn country. At the age of 11 I endured days and nights in shelters while my homeland and my hometown were bombed. And could never wish such devastation on anyone.

There are more and more active conflicts in the entire world. Each one is different. Each one is heartbreaking. I wish all of them to stop and principles of love to prevail.

Today, a targeted campaign has been unleashed against me, seemingly as an external maneuver to influence decisions that can create a disturbing precedent shadowing the essence of artistic freedom. The result of such a narrative is the triumph of absurdity and the defeat of art.

Apparently this parting of the ways by HBO was triggered by a Ukrainian Foreign Ministry post online that asked:

HBO, is it all right for you to work with a person who supports genocide & violates international law?

Initially HBO got confused as to whom the Ukrainian post was referring to, as there are so many candidates out there in the USA, Israel and the Ukraine for that matter - just for example - that fit that description a little more accurately than Mr Bikovic.

And it's ironic that former Ukrainian President Poroshenko is famous for publicly advocating that children in the Donbass hide in cellars. He may have had Serbia in mind.

When HBO realised it meant their White Lotus Serbian actor, who happened to have been given an award by Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2018, they were forced to drop this genocidal maniac from the show otherwise ratings might be impacted or other cast members 'triggered' by working with this international law breaker.

What's next? Actors being referred to the International Criminal Court for playing Russians?

Where are the protests from the Hollywood big-shots at this nonsense?
