The UK, formerly known as 'Airstrip One' by the Government of Oceania, will now adopt a new role: It is to become the Liquid National Gas (LNG) terminal for Europe now that the Nordstream pipelines have been destroyed by someone so the EU can no longer rely on Russian oil and gas.

A new network of pipelines will be built to transport LNG through the existing Eurotunnel and into mainland Europe where it will be dispersed by a new LNG road transportation network comprising a fleet of 500,000 Tesla electric trucks. On the announcement of the deal, Tesla stock went up 7085% and Elon Musk's personal fortune surpassed the value of the US national debt.

A spokesperson for the US administration told FNN:

As a result of this multi-billion dollar contract with the USA to supply LNG to the EU via the UK, Britain will benefit from hundreds of new jobs, mostly in Barrow-In-Furness where the new LNG import terminal will be built with Chinese money.

The skilled jobs created will include baristas and microwave technicians to manage the new drive-thru Starbucks and KFC to be built at the LNG terminal to service the US LNG specialists that will manage the facility.

EU spokesperson Ursula Von Richthofen was jubilant:

We have ensured that no LNG will actually touch post-Brexit Britain, to avoid contamination and quality checks at the border with France. With this new deal we have finally found a way for the Eurotunnel to make money and to get Germany off its reliance on cheap Russian energy by switching to reliance on expensive US energy.
