As a further lever on President Putin to conclude a peace treaty with Ukraine, President Trump has threatened to apply Federal Reserve Docket No. OP-1670, aka the FedNow service, to the Russians.

AP claims:

The Federal Reserve is launching a new program that will give it the power to monitor, freeze and even seize private bank accounts based on a person’s behavior or political beliefs.

But FNN has learned that this new service is nothing more than a faster payments system, something European countries have had for years, and anyway cannot be applied to Russia as it is currently banned from the global SWIFT payment network.

What the new payment system actually does is facilitate an interbank transfer of funds much faster than can be done today - assuming of course that you did not vote for President Trump in which case the transfer will be halted, your bank account will be frozen, the transaction will be reported to the Democratic National Convention (DNC) on a public email server and the funds donated to the Clinton Foundation.
