Following the consumption of the artwork called Comedian - a part of Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan's exhibition WE at Seoul's Leeum Museum of Art - FNN has learned that artwork is being eaten off the walls of galleries and museums all around the world including:
- Croaked Monsieur - a tired-looking cheese sandwich in the Louvre
- Senior Special - a small portion of fish and chips wrapped in newspaper at the National Gallery, London
- BFM (Big F**king Mac) - a double-decker Big Mac with fries and a vanilla shake in the St Louis Golden Arches gallery
An art expert explained:
Just like the increase in the use of food banks, art museums are experiencing a rise in installation consumption, due to the cost of living crisis.
For example, art museums in San Fancisco are devoid of any food-related installations having being stripped clean by the local homeless population. A number of priceless paintings have also been stolen for use either as firelighters or as roach papers.
EU spokesperson, Ursula Von Richthofen (fresh from her attendance at the coronation of King Charles III) commented:
Edible artworks are banned by EU directive #685390 as no-one is hungry in the EU. Anyway, a bratwurst taped to the wall would just look obscene. Vorsprung durch Teknik!
