As winter approaches, air fryers are flying off the shelves as Brits have realized that these can also be used as personal heating devices.
The air fryer was designed to circulate very hot air around small portions of food to cook it as an alternative to ovens. But plucky 'cost-of-living-crisis' Brits have found that the devices can also function as effective heating devices.
By opening the lid of the air fryer and attaching a cheap chinese battery-powered fan to the device, the hot air can circulate out of the fryer to help heat a small area in the room and act as a personal heater for whomever is huddled over the cooking food.
It's a bit like a going back to being a Neanderthal huddled over a tiny open fire. That's progress for you.
