News that Prince Harry is revisiting Ukraine reminds FNN of his likening of people on a battlefield to 'chess pieces' in his biography Spare.

Presumably Russia is black and Ukraine is white on this particular chessboard.

Sky News reports:

The duke told the Guardian while on an overnight train to Kyiv: "We cannot stop the war but what we can do is do everything we can to help the recovery process.

"We can continue to humanise the people involved in this war and what they are going through.

"We have to keep it in the forefront of people's minds. I hope this trip will help to bring it home to people because it's easy to become desensitised to what has been going on."

So now the Prince seems to realise that people are more than chess pieces. Good for him.

I'm sure that will be some compensation for the families of the 25 chess pieces he claimed to have killed in the illegal war in Afghanistan.

Meanwhile new UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper, fresh from her success handling immigration at the home office, is also on her way to Ukraine, presumably for a photo op with the Prince and Zelensky to express solidarity and all that.

What's next? Mandelson on a surprise visit now he has nothing better to do? Yum, yum.
