Sky News ran a picture of the new interim UK ambassador to the USA, James Pascoe, appointed following the sacking of Peter Mandelson.

Many will be forgiven for thinking that the picture related to the selection of a new James Bond not a new ambassador.
The Independent summarized the possibilities to replace Mandelson, bizzarrely commenting that potential candidate Cathy Ashton:

...faces the challenge that she is seen as perhaps better suited to the role had Kamala Harris won.
Kamala Harris? The 107 day wonder? That's clearly the end of Ashton's potential candidancy unless Starmer goes completely bonkers.
One hopes that the top-tier 'vetting' process will do better than it did with 'Lord' Mandelson, as it seemed to ignore the whole Epstein thing - either that or saw it as an advantage in that Trump was also a 'pal' of Epstein.
Expect to see the disgraced Mandelson promoting packs of Yum, Yums at a supermarket near you.
