Following the fining of two women for drinking Starbucks peppermint tea in an outside space by Derbyshire police, FNN has learned that a single man has been fined for eating a chocolate bar in his car.
A police spokesman explained:
We apprehended the suspect eating a chocolate bar in his car and issued an on the spot fine for picnicking.
The man told FNN:
Normally I'm a raisin and biscuit Yorkie man myself but today I bought a Picnic bar for a change without realizing that this was against the current COVID regulations. When the police spotted the purple wrapper they pounced, so that Picnic cost me £200.
A confectionary industry spokesperson commented:
Yes... this is an unfortunate case as we have not yet been able to put COVID warnings on Picnic bars to alert the public to the possibility of being fined.
We also need to put one on Mars bars as of course you are not allowed to travel to Mars until we are all vaccinated against this stupidity.
