Putin says he's ready for war with Europe now

Well not quite.

He actually said this was conditional on IF EUROPE STARTS THE WAR WITH RUSSIA, which is slightly different, although entirely possible if NATO generals now blathering on about 'pre-emptive' defensive strikes get their way.

It's clear from the article clip what Putin actually said but most people won't bother listening to the clip.

They will just read the headline and think what they are supposed to think: Putin wants to flatten Europe! Ukraine is not enough for a warmonger like Putin! We need more weapons and conscription! Nuke the bastards!

Yada, yada, yada.... 

This all smacks of BBC-style editing where it's not about substance but intent. Intent to confuse and to smear.

Except that when the editing is to do with what Trump said it's front-page news.

But when the editing relates to what Putin said, no-one cares - after all, it's just Hitler talking right?
