FT: NATO is considering the possibility of a preemptive strike on Russia.

That is, like the Japanese strike on Pearl Harbour - famously defined as 'a date which will live in infamy' by US President Roosevelt.

The US went on to re-arm and defeat - with some British help - the Japanese.

Pre-emptive strikes are now being re-framed, not as unprovoked agggression but as 'preventative' in nature so they can fit in with NATO's illusion of it being a 'defensive' alliance.

But this is the primrose path to the everlasting bonfire - literally - because if everyone goes for preventative, pre-emptive strikes then there will be nothing left to bother about defending.

Is this the future NATO wants for its members?
