The New Accommodation Offer (NAO) from the MoD is getting pushback from officers who claim that it will negatively impact the recruiting and retention of quality personnel.
A spokesperson explained:
The current offer makes officers eligible for a stately home in the country whereas those in the ranks are offered a tent in Peckham.
The aim of the NAO is to 'level-up' the ranks, who will now be eligible for a state of the art prefab, and to downgrade the officers' accommodation as there are not enough stately homes to go round.
Single personnel of all ranks will be offered their own room in a Premier Inn Hub hotel where available.
