Vermont Senator and former Democrat presidential hopeful, Bernie "Mittens" Sanders, is set to make his comeback as a meme.

Following his unexpected appearance at the recent Biden inauguration, Mittens has become an Internet sensation, as social media rushed to highlight an old man wearing mittens, sitting in a chair at the back of the event.

The Mittens meme is already feeling like an old glove, ready for replacement with some other nonsense.

A spokesperson for Mittens told FNN:

We hope this Internet coverage will assist Bernie in his new role as a lobbyist for the Meme for Mittens initiative in Washington, which is dedicated to replacing the use of gloves with that of colorful, woolly mittens.

One of their recent successes is to have mittens mandated for staff involved in waterboarding inmates of Guantanamo Bay, to keep their hands dry and for drone strike operators in Kansas, to prevent their hands getting cold and accidently striking an Afghan wedding or MSF hospital instead of terrorists.

Here in Vermont we understand the value of Mittens, which is something that the rest of the Democrat party in Washington failed to grasp, probably because they weren't wearing mittens.
