Eurovision emergency vote on Israel's inclusion is called off
Organisers had scheduled a vote on whether Israel should or shouldn't take part in the Eurovision Song Contest, but following the Gaza ceasefire deal, plans have changed.

Who knows what they will do if the Gaza genocide restarts. Start sweating again?

Russia was of course banned from Eurovision for its invasion of Ukraine, which according to a MyLondon report led to a letter to the Eurovision organisers:

Eurovision explains why Russia is banned but Israel isn't

Former Eurovision contestants have signed a letter for Israel to be banned from the contest

The letter continued: “The EBU has already demonstrated that it is capable of taking measures, as in 2022, when it expelled Russia from the competition. We don’t accept this double standard regarding Israel."

But now the EBU does not need to justify its double standards because the ceasefire has saved their bacon and prevented the contest facing its own Waterloo.

Bonus!

But let's not forget - it's all about the music!
