Sweden woke up to find out that chimpanzees were loose in a park, although why they would choose to escape in winter is a mystery.
A spokesperson for the Swedish zoo that lost the chimps told FNN:
A keeper accidently fed the chimps some meatballs without the customary lingonberry sauce and the chimps reacted negatively. Before the keeper could add the sauce they had escaped into a nearby park where they disappeared.
The Swedish police were slow to react and have been accused of 'monkeying around' by the Swedish media.
Before throwing his faeces at us, a spokeschimp also told us:
Meatballs with no lingonberry sauce was just the final straw. They also fed us salty liquorice flavored dates known as 'Be My Date'. I mean come on!
A note has been found from the chimps that says they are tired of being badly fed and they are heading for the Neverland Ranch in search of Michael Jackson who they claim will treat them better.
Unfortunately they are unaware that Mr. Jackson died some years ago as there is no wifi connection in their enclosure so they haven't been keeping up to date with world news.
The movie Return to the Planet of the Apes is to be re-released in Sweden as a Juletide film.
Charlton Heston was unavailable for comment.
