FNN's running expert, Australian marathoner Bill Heslop, recommends 5 things to avoid if you are thinking of running the 2025 London marathon:
- Avoid running. When I ran the first London marathon in 1981 there were only a little over 6000 finishers. Over 50,000 people will run this year (2025), it will be like running in rush hour in downtown Sydney.
- Avoid runners in gold lame tracksuits. I followed 'Sir' Jimmy Saville over Tower Bridge and suffered from inhaling his cigar smoke.
- Avoid running with a robot. They might trip you up when they fall over.
- Never eat prunes before the race otherwise you may need to do a Radcliffe en-route.
- I don't give a f**k for energy drinks so bring your own Castlemaine XXXX for some extra tailwind.
And good luck, you pommie bastards!
