President Trump is expected to authorize the completion of a 'Golden Dome' missile shield to protect the USA from the threat of hypersonic Chinese and Korean missiles.

Presumably the dome is named to reflect the fact that this is what Trump's head will look like when he loses his hair.

Elon Musk's SpaceX is likely to have a key role in the dome but Musk is rumoured to be proposing that the US government pay for the SpaceX services by subscription rather than outright as is the norm.

This is a canny move by Musk as he knows full well that a lock-in subscription model is the way to go. Especially as this is a subscription that could never be turned off.

Users of software will know that the move to a subscription model from a 'perpetual' license model benefitted software vendors far more than users.

What used to be a $100 outright purchase of an application was steadily moved to a $100 annual subscription: More money, on a predictable recurring revenue basis that could be raised at any time.

And the Golden Dome subscription might well be the largest subscription ever - a veritable Golden Shower for Musk.
