According to Sky News, at a recent meeting with the President of Liberia, President Trump praised the Liberian language, asking:

Where did you learn to speak so beautifully?

According to the President, there were people around the table who could not speak Liberian as well as the Liberian President.

The Liberian language is an Indo-European derivative of English and has developed over a century since the country was founded in 1882 by ex-slaves.

Trump said he would like to visit Africa, the bit that sticks out below Israel, and described the countries as all very vibrant places with very valuable land, great minerals, and great oil deposits, and wonderful people.

Ah. Now it all becomes clear.
