Venezuela severed diplomatic ties with Israel in 2009 over its military campaign in Gaza”. Now, Trump is planning another regime change bombing under the fake pretext of fighting drug trafficking, with the real goal of installing a U.S.-Israeli puppet government that will sell off Venezuela’s natural resources to U.S. corporations and go along with U.S./Israeli foreign policy goals. |
This next regime change plan is about as blatant an effort to grab the resources of a weaker country that you can get and will make the USA self-sufficient in oil for decades to come.
So you have to give him credit - it fits right in with Trump's 'America First' agenda.
The ability of Venezuela to resist is minimal without outside help. So it's handy that Russia is tied up in Ukraine for the foreseeable future and China is not yet ready to take on the USA. Machado looks like she's on a home run.
It seems likely that we'll see another Maidan-like 'democracy' protest to depose Maduro but this time, instead of being backed by right-wing neo-Nazi nationalists and foreign NGOs, it will be a full-blown CIA-managed takedown supported by a powerful offshore fleet in case anything goes wrong or needs to be bombed.
So who says Trump knows nothing about history? He's clearly heard of Lord Palmerston.
