The Spectator reports on Zelensky's speech to the UN:
Zelensky also called for international rules around artificial intelligence’s use in weaponry, warning that Russia’s development of autonomous drones and unmanned planes marked ‘the most destructive arms race in human history’.
While there is no doubt that this is necessary, it's a bit late in the game.
Up until the Ukraine war it was the USA that led the way with the use of drones to hit military and civilian targets (e.g. the infamous uninvited Afghan wedding guest) and to assassinate people on a hit list - not Russia.

This is what put everyone on notice that drones are now a powerful military and genuine 'terrorflieger' weapon.
Russia, and everyone else, is playing catch-up with the USA, not the other way around.
Anyway, it wasn't long ago that Zelensky was boasting about Ukraine's drone capabilities and offering their expertise to European militaries.

So this looks like some grandstanding, especially as Ukraine and Russia exchange drone attacks every week.
