The German startup Pogium is to build up to 10 Pogoports in Florida that will function as the start point for a new pogo-stick driven transportation service.
The powered pogo sticks are guided by Google maps and allow the pogoist to spring up to 1000 feet in the air so that journeys can be completed in the least number of "pogos" (i.e. jumps) as possible.
A spokesperson for Pogium told FNN:
We are convinced that electrically-powered pogo sticks guided by Google Maps will drive the next revolution in personal transportation.
This service is not suitable for anyone who suffers for vertigo but otherwise who wouldn't want to be launched 1000 feet into the air a few times to get to their destination with minimal air pollution.
We expect that the term "pogo" will soon replace miles as the standard unit of distance travelled.
A spokesperson for the Seminole Indian tribe commented:
How! We think many white men going to end up in the Florida swamps. Heh, heh.
EU spokesperson Ursula von Richthofen commented.
Vertical takeoff pogo sticks are yet another example of German ingenuity and innovation. However, this technology is banned from export to the UK as why should they benefit from another advantage of being a member of the EU. Vorsprung Durch Teknik!
