Eye-patched Torquay (Devon, England) pleasure boat skipper Captain Ron managed to figure out that what looked like a Great White Shark fin was not actually attached to a live shark but to a foam float.
Schoolchildren on a day-trip on Cap'n Ron's boat became nervous when they spotted the fin in the water, shouting Fuqua! Fuqua!
(They thought they had spotted a Portugese seal like the fishermen in Overboard, coincidentally another Kurt Russell movie).
Apparently the fin had escaped from a Chinese takeaway in nearby Paignton where is was supposed to be boiled down for soup.
The owner of the 'Wing Dung' takeaway, Fred Xi, told FNN they had to remove number 96 from their menu until they got hold of another fin.
He recommended number 69 (Oyster soup) as an alternative with an order of spring rolls for dipping.
