Prospective UK PM Sir Keir Starmer is rumoured to be considering a new plan to enable people to earn money off the state:
Sell council homes for a profit!
A spokesperson denied that this announcement merely built on conservative Margaret Thatcher's policy of increasing home ownership and social stability by allowing council house tenants to buy their own rented property at a discount, telling FNN:
Mrs Thatcher wanted to increase home ownership whereas what we want to do is to enable people to profit from the sale of council houses bought at a discount from the state.
You see we want people to profit from the sale of their homes, not stay in them.
Most of them are right-wing Brexiteers or hard-left Union agitators anyway so who wants them cluttering up the country?
The benificiaries of the social housing sell-off can then take the money and run. For example to emigrate to Benidorm and become bargain Brits in the sun.
This frees up their property for more deserving incomers so they can make a real contribution to our diverse economy of baristas, charity shop volunteers and Amazon delivery drivers.
The new strategy is expected to be backed by deputy leader and shadow levelling up secretary Angela Rayner, who recently did some levelling up herself by selling her former council house for a profit, which she is perfectly entitled to do.
