Director Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that the cast of his new production, Coalition of the Willing (aka Triumph des Willens in right-wing circles), has assembled in Kiev for a read-through of the new script for the revised production.

When the top-class European talent arrived in Kiev by VIP train, there were plenty of luvvie hugs and kisses, before they went straight to the script read-through.

Unfortunately the script for the production keeps changing to reflect the complex funding required to finance these kinds of multinational productions.

What began as a comedy has now become a tragedy, a transition that has meant a radical re-alignment of the production cast and crew as US talent refused to take part due to other 'commitments'.

On the schedule is a crucial call to the bigshot Hollywood producer - Donald J Trump - who blows hot and cold about the production but whose backing is essential if the movie is to go ahead as planned by the Director Zelensky.

Without producer Trump's backing, the Coalition of the Willing will go the way of many other worthy movie projects that failed to get Hollywood financing - into the dustbin of history - as the Europeans are unable to fund productions of this scale without American backing.

The Coalition of the Willling reminds FNN of Shakespeare's Macbeth:

Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow,
Creeps in this petty pace from day to day,
To the last syllable of recorded time;
And all our yesterdays have lighted fools
The way to dusty death.
Out, out, brief candle!
Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player,
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage,

Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.


Like the play, the Coalition of the Willing has a tragic hero bewitched by prophecies of greatness and encouraged by an amibitious partner who ends up leading him down the primrose path to the everlasting bonfire.
