In an announcement expected by the markets, Facebook confirmed that it will be changing its user terms and conditions to give it the automatic right to a non-exclusive license to use all material assets belonging to its users.

This gives Facebook the right, for example, to lodge an employee in your home or use your car for employee transportation without your explicit permission.

We polled a number of Facebook users who seemed unfazed by this new development as essentially they have no assets since they are commited couch surfers or depend on AirBNB for housing and Uber for all their rides.

Unlike previous generations, they do not own stacks of CDs, DVDs and books bought from stores with their hard-earned stock options since they download them all for free online or from streaming services that pay the original artists a pittance for their content.

A Facebook spokeperson explained:

Facebook is expanding in an exciting new direction that will mean all our users will benefit from having not just their data, but all their material assets fully utilized and monetized by Facebook without their knowledge.

All we can say is - Wow! Isn't technology great?
