Ukrainians will end up with nothing to show for their efforts except a still more depressed and more corrupt economy, an enormous IMF debt, a worsening of social services, and an empty ‘democracy,’ led by corrupt neo-Nazis and ultra-nationalists.

Although he is now gone, it can't have been any comfort to Parenti to watch his prophecy come true.

While the MSM continues to push the fake narrative of democracy and a bright future for a Ukraine reconstructed with Russian reparations, anybody who has been following this closely knows that is nonsense and Ukraine has simply switched from being a vassal state of Russia to a vassal state of the USA, EU, the IMF, NGOs and others.

At least the former had the benefit of a shared cultural heritage and cheap energy.

The latter offers nothing but servitude, fast food, migration (out) and a divided state.

If Ukraine ever does join the EU it will become another thorn in the Brussel's side - like Hungary and Slovakia - as its ultra-nationalists rail against the dictats of the centre as Ukraine returns to Soviet-like rule only with a democratic and Eurotrash gloss over the whole thing.

It's understandable why NATO would want Ukraine to join, with a battle-tested army familiar with modern weapon systems, but why the EU would want it in their bloc is inexplicable.

Doesn't the EU have enough trouble with right-wing nationalists and loan handouts to Ukraine already? 

Doesn't Ukraine have enough trouble with outward migration that freedom of movement will only make worse?

But the EU leadership is nothing but a bunch of woodentops as recent events have proven. 

Yet they are also cunning and will no doubt create a special 'membership' track just for Ukraine that might compromise some of their 'values' but still gobble up some more territory as fodder for the superstate they need to create to challenge the USA and China.
