The US state of Arizona is filling in the remaining 1000 feet of its border wall around the town of Yuma by using shipping containers.

Each shipping container is furnished to support a family of six and the hope is that instead of trying to cross the border illegally, migrants will set up home in the containers after fitting an air conditioner with a grant from the Biden climate change bill.

The containers will only be added two-high due to a height restriction on buildings around the border to avoid encouraging snipers. Heavy demand is expected for the 'penthouse' container as the ground floor container is easier for rattlesnakes and tarantulas to access.

An Arizona state spokesperson told FNN:

Previously we have had to bus migrants to Washington so they can be housed in the Beltway. But now we are hoping that 'Containerville' will become a bustling border town and add to our tax base.

EU spokesperson Ursula Von Richthofen commented:

We are investigating the use of 'containerburgs' here in Germany - sorry I mean the EU - not for migrants but to house Brits refused entry to the EU when they are found in possession of their non-EU regulated ham sandwiches, bacon rolls and pork pies. Vorsprung Durch Teknik!
