Sky News reports:
The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) says senior figures in Moscow, including members of Vladimir Putin's inner circle, have been making a series of statements designed to threaten Finland.
Apparently it's Russia that is threatening Finland and not the other way around:
- Finland closed the border with Russia
- Finland abandoned decades of highly successful neutrality
- Finland joined NATO, a military alliance currently fighting a proxy war against Russia in Ukraine
- Finland's President Stubb makes Russophobic statements all the time
- Finland has a history of threatening Russia e.g. as a WW2 ally of Hitler's Nazis and a participant in the siege of Leningrad that killed hundreds of thousands of Russian civilians
But it's Russia threatening Finland.
Do the experts at the ISW really think Russia is going to trigger Article 5 by attacking Finland?
Of course they don't. This is just another brick in the wall of the overarching narrative that 'evil' Russia is a threat to everyone 'good', created for people who don't want to question anything but just accept what they are fed.
By its actions, Finland made a choice: to join the countries commited to prolonging US hegemony and the comfy unilateral world based on the fake 'rules based order' (our rules, your order) or to stay neutral and stay out of it.
Time will tell whether they made the right decision for their people.
