According to Sky News:

Facebook and Instagram (Meta) users in the UK and the European Union may soon see their posts used to train artificial intelligence.

A spokesperson explained:

Everyone else is doing it so why not us?

Users have nothing to worry about as robust protocols are in place to ensure that user data is used responsibly by our new AI bot, affectionately known as 'The Terminator'.

Users will be able to opt-out by explaining their reasons why using a 64 page online form which will be reviewed by another AI bot for inconsistencies.

Meta doesn't guarantee it will accept users' opt-out requests but will review objection requests in accordance with relevant data protection laws.

Naturally, this opt-out will not apply in the USA where nobody cares how their data is used by Silicon Valley tech giants as long as they get lots of free stuff.

EU spokesperson Ursula Von Richthofen told FNN:

Here in the EU we will be imposing a charge on Meta for using EU-originated data to train their AI, none of which will ever see its way back to the users whose data is being used and instead will be used to curb right-wing activity in the EU.

Those who opt-out will be switched to a second-class user experience full of bugs and inexplicable data lags since they are no different from those untermenschen who voted for Brexit in the UK.
