Republican Mike Turner to Margaret Brennan on CBS Face the Nation:

Well, I think this is very important. The- what's very clear here, and I think this is important to discuss, you know, the President of the United States indicated that we were targeting the military, military infrastructure and- and not the regime, and not regime change. And yesterday, when I had the opportunity to talk to Secretary Rubio, you know, I asked that question, and he was very clear in the answer that we did not target Khamenei and the- and we were not targeting the leadership in Iran.

So given the multiple assassinations that actually took place, we have to assume:

1. Mr Turner has no idea what he is talking about.
2. He does not understand what a decapitation strike is for.
3. It was a false flag and the Iranians blew themselves up.
4. It wasn't regime change because no-one was left so who do you change to?
5. The Israelis did it and not the USA.

It's really hard to decide which of these options is the truth as they are all so compelling.

But (5) seems obvious given that Turner deflected Brennan's question about the US 'greenlighting' Israel to carry out the strike by neatly switching to a classic Russiagate smear involving - yes you guessed it - Putin and his pal Khamenei. What a great pivot!

Speaking of murderous dictators, clearly it's important that the word 'murderous' is always followed by the word 'dictator' - rather than President or Prime Minister - as otherwise all sorts of people could fit the bill, something Mr Turner and Ms Brennan surely realise.
