FNN has discovered that a planning loophole means that anyone in the UK can convert their garden shed into some kind of nightmare structure without needing planning permission. So anything that is 'ancilliary' to your main living accommodation can be developed within permitted development rights. Possible developments include:

  • a roller-coaster
  • an outdoor discotheque
  • a monkey house
  • a multi-storey parking bay
  • your own mini-Shard

EU spokesperson Ursula Von Richthofen commented:

This is another consequence of Brexit. Previously all planning applications had to go through Brussels so by the time they were resolved the applicants had either moved or died. Here in the EU we will only fast-track applications to carpet your lawn with wind turbines or solar panels. But they must be connected to the German grid in order to compensate us for the loss of Russian gas. Vorsprung Durch Teknik!
