Thanks to the generosity of Russian President Putin, North Korean leader has a new car to drive: A Moskvitch!

Four plucky Russians decided to to prove that you don't need millions of rubles to buy bad-ass SUVs to drive in North Korea.

That's why they drove their secondhand green ‘Moskvitch’ from 1981, which they collectively bought for just 70,000 rubles (approx. $800), straight to North Korea via Siberia.

The ‘Moskvitch’ was specially customized before the trip as it was fitted with rubber floor mats, a windscreen wiper and a primus stove integrated into the dashboard to provide in-car heating.

A Kremlin spokesperson told FNN:

We think the leader of North Korea will definitely gain many admiring glances as he cuts a dash in his hip green Moskvitch.

Also, it's lucky that Mr Un has a flat-top haircut as the roof of the Moskvitch is quite low.
