A full statutory inquiry will now be held into the UK grooming gang scandal after Baroness Casey's latest report into sexual abuse carried out by grooming gangs in England and Wales:
Her report found that ethnicity data is not recorded for two-thirds of grooming gang perpetrators.
However at a local level in three police forces - Greater Manchester, South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire - "there has been a disproportionality of group-based child sexual exploitation offending by men of Asian ethnicity".
The cross bench peer said instead of looking into whether ethnicity or cultural factors played a part, authorities "avoided the topic altogether for fear of appearing racist", and this warranted further investigation.
Hand-wringing over potential racism is not what should be preventing a robust response to behaviour that quite clearly demonstrates a disgusting level of sexual depravity and hatred for women, who happened to be mostly white female children preyed on by mostly Asian ethnicity adult men.
If calling out depravity is a far-right bandwagon then God help us all.
