In uncovering what may be the most valuable recipes ever, 3 students have shared a prize worth $1 million.
They used AI to decipher the content of the Herculaneum scrolls in a discovery hailed by Professor Alice Roberts as "the archaeological discovery of my lifetime".
The scrolls - likely written by Epicurean philosopher Philodemus - were found to contain recipes for:
- A pizza topped with ash mixed with cheese
- A canelloni stuffed with truffles and anchovies
- A special canoli filling known as 'lava cream'
Australian pizza parlour owner Bill "Topo Gigio" Heslop told FNN:
This is a truly volcanic discovery.
