The Nobel Peace prize has been awarded to the Myanmar junta for its "peaceful" coup carried out after the military disputed the results of the recent election.
A spokesperson for the Nobel Prize committee told FNN:
Following our previous award of the Peace prize to President Obama for his leadership in the peaceful destabilization of Libya and peaceful drone strike campaign, we felt we had no choice but to award this year's prize to the Myanmar Junta.
After all, they have only imprisoned the legitimate leader of Myanmar, Aung San Suu Kyi, whereas in Libya for example, Muammar Gaddafi was murdered on video so social media fans of peaceful interventions could enjoy his death on their feeds.
A spokesperson for the Myanmar Junta commented:
We thought that Black Lives Matter would be a shoe-in for this year's prize as after all their peaceful protests only resulted in millions of dollars of property damage, widespread violence and looting and a few people killed. But we were wrong.
Naturally we are pleased that the Nobel prize committee has taken the road to Mandalay and recognized the work of the peaceful Myanmar military regime in restoring order to our country.
