On Sunday, Rasmus Jarlov, the chair of Denmark’s parliamentary defence committee, sparred with security expert Velina Tchakarova, who claimed that European nations that do not take the “threat” from Russia and China seriously “have not been paying attention to what was happening in the Arctic in the last ten years.”

Jarlov wrote on X, without clarifying who he was referring to: “I am head of the defense committee in Denmark… I get all relevant information about it. I can assure you that your fantasies about a big threat from China and Russia against Greenland are delusional. You are the threat. Not them.”

So no more hygge for Trump who also said Greenland's defense consists of two dog-sleds and:

Asked about the potential impact on NATO, Trump appeared unmoved.

"If it affects NATO, then it affects NATO," he said. "They need us more than we need them."

Well he got that right.

NATO is in full-blown damage control mode now as both Germany and the UK mull putting troops in Greenland to beef up the NATOMU presence on the island.
