As ever, Caitlin Johnstone is a voice of reason following the backlash after the Bondi beach shooting.

I don’t remember the 15 Palestinians who died during that 24-hour period in mid-March, but I will always remember the Bondi Beach shooting. Someone could mention it to me thirty years from now and I’ll know exactly what they’re talking about. My society made an infinitely bigger deal about the deaths of 15 westerners in Sydney, Australia than the deaths of 15 Palestinians in Gaza, so it will always stick in my memory.
One has to ask: Why is that?
And the only answer can be that we are being manipulated by out of whack narratives popularised by the MSM.
Let's take another example, back in 2020, when just one man - the fentanyl-infused felon George Floyd - was unlawfully killed, it sparked off global outrage and support for what turned out to be a corrupt Black Lives Matter movement. There were weeks of rioting across the US over his death - admittedly more due to deep-seated societal problems in the USA and rampant TDS - with hooded armed anarchists appearing on the streets of US cities.
Anyone who read the MSM at the time knows who George Floyd was and that the protests were generally applauded - for a while at least.
But again, today, pro-Palestine protestors are being villified, banned and arrested for protesting against the killing or destituion of tens of thousands of innocent people in Gaza, when the killing of one person justified billions of dollars of property damage and widespread criminality and violence as the western world looked on with approval.
Stickers like 'I support BLM' and 'I am George Floyd' appeared all over the world.
But come on...really?
This deserves worldwide support but the plight of the Palestinians does not?
Again one has to ask: Why is that?
Why should we care more about one felon in the USA than tens of thousands of innocent people in Gaza?
And the only answer can be that we are being manipulated by out of whack narratives popularised by the MSM.
Floyd did not deserve to die at the hands of the police but neither did all these Palestinian women and children deserve to die in the Israeli onslaught on Gaza.
Their lives also matter, at least to them and their families, but apparently not so much to many in the western world and particularly the political establishment who have got themselves tied up in knots over the issue.
