The European Conservative reports that:

France’s Justice Minister Gérald Darmanin has unveiled plans to reintroduce a system requiring prisoners to contribute to the cost of their incarceration, as part of a broader effort to address rising violence and systemic issues in the country’s prison system.

In the UK, the government is rumoured to be considering a similar initiative.

A spokesperson explained:

Prison sentences should come with something like a Student Loan that prisoners must pay off in exchange for their rehabilitation.

The loan amount will vary. Prisoners who are classed as 'right-wing' or voted for Reform will have to pay more.

Trans prisoners will also have to pay more in order to fund their 'safe-spaces', which is only right and fair.
