Leith Arches has cancelled Comedy Unleashed's Edinburgh Festival event following complaints that Graham Linehan, who has been an outspoken critic of lots of things, was on the bill.
A spokesperson told FNN:
We had no idea we were going to have someone critical of something taking part in a comedy event at our venue. It's outrageous.
Patrons of our venue expect to enjoy events without being subjected to anything critical - just like at University where critical thought has been abandoned..
So we have no option but to remove Mr Linehan and ask him to take his critical views elsewhere.
Mr Linehan has been offered a new venue in an abandoned croft in Hirta on the island of St Kilda, a little west of Edinburgh.
Mr Linehan is reported as saying:
The most important view I have is that it is a crime against humanity to tell children that they may have been born in the wrong body.
Father Ted Crilly, spokesperson for the Catholic Church of Craggy Island, commented:
This is a feckin' disgrace. We don't go in for that sort of thing here on Craggy Island.
And Dougal, take off that tutu. This isn't a feckin' PG Tips advert.
All this feckin' rainbow stuff is confusing Father Jack. All he used to say was Girrls but lately he's not so sure.
Ah Mrs Doyle. Any chance of a cup of tea? Go on. Just one more cup.
