The Bank of England has been forced to apologize after it discovered a serious banknote printing mistake.

Lots of new banknotes that were supposed to feature the face of King Charles III, actually featured the face of Oliver Cromwell on the front and an oak tree on the back.

The BoE has no idea how the faulty notes, already dubbed the 'regicide' notes, could have been signed off by the 59 'commissioners' needed to approve the bank note design but it is blaming the right-wing 'New Model Army' that it says has infiltrated their printing plant.
