News that that the UK is to move to a new 3-monthly bin collection cycle in order to encourage more recycling has led to a surge in orders on Amazon for a new 'recycling cube' that people can keep in their gardens.

The new bin is a giant green plastic cube with the dimensions 5m x 5m x 5m - big enough for a car to be driven into, although cars are not yet recyclable.

This new cube requires a specially adapted truck to take it away to a nearby recycling plant - a bit like a skip truck.

A spokesperson explains:

As we moving to the new 3-monthly bin collection cycle we need a new kind of bin to collect all the material.

People without gardens will need to take their recycle to the nearest 'recycle hulk' - a ship moored onshore that when full will simply sail off and dump the stuff in the ocean.

The new cube will require a truck pickup so this will need to be paid for by a 100% increase in council tax.

The UK Post Office is also expected to announce a similar 3-month cycle for the delivery of second class mail.
