According to Sky News, in 1963, the first woman in space, the Soviet Union's Valentina Tereshkova, was the first space traveller to go beyond 65 degrees latitude north and south while orbiting the earth.

She orbited the Earth 48 times and spent almost three days in space.

Now, over 60 years later, Bitcoin miner Chun Wang and his invited pals are set to repeat her feat by paying $42 million per seat each to go up in a SpaceX Dragon capsule.

That's gonna buy a lot of Teslas.

They won't just be zooming around in circles, they will also be conducting 22 crucial experiments including:

  • Stoners in Space - can you grow weed in zero gravity and what happens when you smoke it in a spacesuit?
  • X-Ray Vision - can x-rays in space see thru clothing to vindicate those adverts in the back of American comic books?
  • Skiing in Space - the first spacewalk on cross-country skis in honour of Norwegian polar explorer Roald Amundsen

Fascinating stuff!
